Trash Collection

Hours of Operation: 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday

Preferred times to call: 10am to 12pm & 1pm to 3pm

 

Trash- Dumpsters are provided for regular household trash. Please place bagged trash inside dumpsters. Republic Services will not remove trash placed outside of dumpsters.

 

Recycling- Republic Services provides wheeled recycling containers for acceptable recyclable materials. Please place only recyclables inside wheeled recycling containers. Republic Services will not remove recyclables placed outside the recycling containers.

 

Large Items -For large items, Wednesday is the pick-up day, and items must be left at dumpster #3, which is located at the intersection of Essex House Square and Sandra Marie Circle. See the Essex House Site Map.

 

In the past, a number of recyclable materials have been placed in dumpsters instead of the recycle bins provided. According to Republic Services, the following products can be recycled and are picked up on Thursdays:

• Cardboard (folded), newspapers, mixed paper, junk mail, telephone directories, paperback books; TIP: for hardback books - hard covers must be first removed as they are not recyclable
• Plastics any color numbered 1 through 7 only
• Aluminum cans, but no other metal items

NOTE: not plastic bags of any sort – instead, these should be placed in collection bins outside of many local grocery stores
